Steve Finn set to miss First Test

Steve Finn sat out of practice on Tuesday(source-Icc-cricket.com)

With the first test beginning on Thursday  in Ahmedabad Steve Finn chances of playing in the final XI looks bleek.Finn failed to bowl  in the nets during the warm up session today. The right arm fast bowler injured his thigh during the opening warm up match but hope was there that he would play in the first test since he was in the nets on Sunday. These hopes have now being mostly buried.

England's wicket -keeper batsman Matt Prior has said that such a loss is a big blow to the team, but does have hope that Tim Bresnan can do the trick against the Indians come Wednesday .

Prior said: "It's a setback. I'm sure coach and captain would want to be able to choose from every player that's out here.

"But we have a lot of strength and depth in the squad. It's one thing that's made our squad so strong over the last couple of years.

"If Finny's not available, there's another guy that can step in and do as good a job - that's the way we look at it."
